PKR is a non-profit animal rescue organization that operates in the greater Austin, Texas metro area. They are not just another Austin animal shelter, their focus is on “special needs” animals that are deemed “unadoptable” by the city shelter and other groups. PKR is an Austin dog adoption and cat adoption center. Pawsitive Karma Rescue’s natural approach to treating and maintaining an animal’s health is inspiring and we hope that this higher code of conduct can be applied in other animals adoption and rescue centers across the nation. They prefer simple medical treatments and nutrient-dense food to those with harsh chemicals and other questionable ingredients and the results are spectacular. Pawsitive Karma Rescue’s admirable efforts saved 284 lives in 2011 and we hope to help double that number in 2012. Join the fight and help us give animals a voice with Pawsitive Karma Rescue.
Not Just Another Animal Shelter in Austin, TX
Pawsitive Karma Rescue is not just another Austin animal shelter. Pawsitive Karma Rescue focuses on saving animals instead of euthanization. Unfortunately, animal behavior is not an area of expertise for most shelter employees which means thousands of adoptable animals are euthanized each year based on uninformed assessments. That is another reason why we decided to support Pawsitive Karma Rescue’s cause. More About Pawsitive Karma Rescue
This cat and dog adoption group was founded by two Central Texas women with a passion for animals, particularly the underdogs and cats they encountered at local animal shelters. PKR is a 100% foster and volunteer based rescue group. The animals we pull from local shelters go immediately into foster care. Because of this, PKR is always accepting local Austin, Texas area volunteers. Having no high cost rescue facility to maintain means no overhead costs. All of the donations we receive go directly to the care and support of our animals.
Creating Awareness
One of the most powerful things anyone can do is create awareness for noble causes, like animal adoption rather than euthanasia. People genuinely want to help, and in many cases just need a little help figuring out where they can do the most good. Making a positive impact in an animal’s life is one of the most beneficial things we can do as caring individuals.
